LGG Industrial Counter Sales Technician in London (DeeTag), Canada

Position: Counter Service Technician

Job Location: London Ontario

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Role

This position is typically responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and includes counter sales and service, assembling and manufacturing hose assemblies and kits and maintain inventory in an orderly fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.

  • Provides technical assistance, support, and customer sales and service activities on front line (counter);

  • Responsible to update sales order and inventory module within P21 (inventory control system)

  • Assembles products to company, customer, and manufacturer’s standards.

  • Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts.

  • Assembling hydraulic hose/industrial and tube assemblies for line 5

  • Assemble hydraulic/ Industrial hose assemblies and tube assemblies for counter sales.

  • Make recommendations to supervisor/manager with respect to product and process improvements.

  • Assists with physical inventory when assigned.

  • May deliver products or visit customer sites.

  • General maintenance activities as assigned.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional manner.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; works well within a team environment.

  • Requires a proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.

  • Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, internet, and email.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of warehousing or production experience in an industrial setting is preferred;

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
